Connecting with EA DC Members

We are incredibly fortunate to have a robust, growing community with members at all stages of life and career, and we want to take a moment to highlight opportunities for you to connect with one another, in addition to this month’s events:

  • EA DC now has an Intros.AI page where you can sign up to be connected to a new member over email each week, two weeks, or month for an introductory conversation. This is a great way to connect to other EAs in the area who share your interests. Sign up here!
  • If you are unsure where to start or are looking for particular advice or connections, you can schedule a 1-on-1 call with an EA DC Organizer.

EA DC Events:

For more detail check our website events page!

For information about each cause area event, please add your name to the cause area email list here. If you are interested in joining the Parents’ Group, sign up here. You can subscribe to EA DC’s events calendar on our website to have EA DC events auto-populate on your calendar app!

Reasons and Persons Reading Group

EA DC is running a reading group for Reasons and Persons by Derek Parfit. The first meetings will happen at the following dates and times, sign up for either the virtual or in-person meeting if you’d like to join! No background in philosophy is required to participate.

Community Updates

  • The Future of Life Institute released an open letter calling for the pausing of all AI experiments (you can sign, too)
  • Laura Duffy helped raise more than $40,000 for the Against Malaria Foundation
  • Max Ghenis was featured on Marginal Revolution
